A primary mission of the Community Foundation is strengthening our Partners, which means building the capacity of nonprofit agencies in Hinds, Madison, and Rankin Counties. We accomplish that crucial mission through endowments which provide nonprofits with much-needed financial stability. And, in difficult financial times, even help insure the continuation of their work.

We are pleased to hold the endowments of a number of treasured nonprofit organizations. We help them find ways to increase their endowments through capital campaigns and planned giving. We are in conversation with many other nonprofit agencies to establish endowments with us. Together, all these nonprofits are our Partners. We are dedicated to promoting their work and insuring their future.

We can help build endowments so our Partners' quality programs and services can continue for years to come. By creating professionally managed endowments without the administrative and investment responsibilities that can consume valuable resources, we work to strengthen our Partners.

Our Partners recognize the need for diversified, stable, and predictable sources of income. Most organizations should consider a “funding mix” that will provide financial stability. An important part of that may be an endowment fund, which provides a permanent pool of assets that generates income and is expected to grow over time, providing a source of additional income each year.

The Community Foundation can assist in creating and managing endowments. Our mission is to manage funds permanently endowed by donors for the benefit of specific charitable causes or the general benefit of the citizens of Hinds, Rankin, and Madison Counties.
